ONC Announces Winners of its Move Health Data Forward ChallengeBy Michael Contreras
This morning, the Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) announced its winners for the Move Health Data Forward Challenge. This challenge, which sought innovative solutions to improve how patient health data is transferred and secured between health care providers. In particular, this government challenge required applications and products that used the interoperability standards of the HEART Working Group’s baseline security and privacy thresholds.
The ONC awarded two winners $50,000 each for their groundbreaking technologies: Foxhall Wythe LLC’s DocketTM application, and Live and Leave WellTM. After showcasing their technologies during a virtual demo day, the judges selected them as the two best solutions addressing this well-documented problem in the health IT space. The HHS hopes the rewards from this prize challenge will enable the winners to continue scale their innovative technologies. Congratulations to DocketTM and Live and Leave WellTM, and thank you all those who participated and were involved in this challenge!
